If you are in or near Longboat Key, Florida you must pop into Whitney's. The cutest spot tucked into tropical gardens across the street from the beach. What was once a service gas station, is now a modern bodega and bar. A hip place to eat, drink and be merry. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into all of the details when designing the restaurant. From the creative logo, décor, food and drink menus, plates, glasses... its endless! The vibe here is al fresco with seating inside at tables or at a cool long bar with all doors open to the outside. Or sit outside in one of the many cozy tables placed around lush tropical plantings.

Serving lunch, and dinner 11a-9p weekdays and brunch, lunch and dinner on 9a-9p on weekends. No reservations, first come first served. If you have to wait for a table, grab a drink from the bar and hit up the outdoor cornhole areas.

The inside bar is awesome, an open air area with wooden diner stools, frose machine, hanging plants and, of course a full bar. Inside you can also sit for a casual bite with many booth style tables to accommodate small and large parties. Outside there are many areas for cornhole and cocktails, or to just eat and drink.

The food and drinks are all super yummy and there truly is something for everyone and all ages. From tuna tartar, juicy burgers, steak frites, salads, fish bites, crab cakes, pie and more all served in or on vintage metal dishes. I try something different every time I visit.

I also must mention my love for the logo. A vintage man and women in bathing suits. So creative and fun! The logo is printed on the outside restroom doors, menus and on t-shirt's. Don't forget to grab a t-shirt in the cute little gift shop next to the bar.
